This group of work started out as a celebration of home and my neighborhood.

But, with the passing of my Great Aunt Beth during the creation of this work,

I decided to include several pieces as a tribute to her.

I imagined her as a cardinal, her favorite bird, returning to her Heavenly Home

where I'm sure my Grandmother the Owl was waiting to greet her.

When I was young  Aunt Beth was influential in my discovery and appreciation of the natural world. My artwork is inspired by the joy and magic of nature that she encouraged me to find.

She also happened to be the curious person who suggested that we try this silly looking food on a stick - my first corndog!

So it seemed fitting that I, as a creative blue monkey,

would say goodbye to her while sitting underneath one of my signature "corndog trees".
